Congratulations, Class of 2023!
For over 75 years, Caltech seniors have sustained a rich history of giving back to campus as their undergraduate years come to an end. The Senior Class Gift tradition gives students to opportunity to leave a legacy as a group and make a lasting impact on the Institute.
Senior gifts allow students to come together as a class to celebrate their graduation, honor and thank those who made their experiences possible, and make a difference for the faculty and fellow students. Funds raised directly support Caltech students and help pay forward the opportunities and resources that alumni, parents, and friends of Caltech made possible for others.
Every year, the senior class chooses a specific campus program that will benefit from their fundraising. In 2024, the Caltech Y summer science program for local high schoolers received Senior Class Gift support to help inspire the next wave of STEAM students to follow their curiosities and achieve great things.
In addition to honoring fellow graduates, participating in the Senior Class Gift can also help spark an interest in philanthropy, which is also important to the future of the Institute. For example, the percentage of alumni who give back affects our U.S. News and World Report ranking, which impacts the value of a Caltech degree, and alumni participation incentivizes larger corporations and foundations to invest in Caltech.
The Class of 2023 set two Caltech senior class gift records: They achieved an unprecedented participation rate of 54.3 percent and collectively raised over $2,638.
We challenge the Class of 2024 to soar past this remarkable feat!
