Undergraduate Scholarships
Support for undergraduate scholarships through the Caltech Fund can help provide current and aspiring Techers with resources, opportunities, and extracurricular activities they need to flourish. Your investment has an immediate impact on Caltech undergraduate students, alleviating the burden of tuition debt and preparing them to become world leaders in science, engineering, academic, industry, and public service.
Caltech attracts some of the brightest and most creative minds in the world. As such, the undergraduate program is comprised of exceptional individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. Caltech supports nearly 1,000 undergraduate students across 28 majors within the Institute's six academic divisions: Biology and Biological Engineering; Chemistry and Chemical Engineering; Engineering and Applied Science; Geological and Planetary Sciences; the Humanities and Social Sciences; and Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy.
Supporting undergraduate scholarships through the Caltech Fund allows for the Institute to support students as they work towards their degrees and receive training to identify, analyze, and solve challenging problems across science and engineering disciplines alongside faculty and their intellectual equals.
Why Supporting Undergraduate Scholarships Matters
To recruit talented and best-in-class students, many of whom are being sought after by other top universities around the world, Caltech must be able to offer support that allows scholars to realize their scientific aspirations. Scholarships and fellowships help provide that support.
Currently, more than half of Caltech undergraduates receive financial assistance. We are among a small percentage of private U.S. institutions that make admissions decisions based solely on merit—and keeping it that way is a top priority. Directing your gift toward scholarships will ensure that bright, hardworking students can study at arguably one of the best academic and research institutions in the world, regardless of their financial means.
